Alyssa McGregor (otherwise known as Alise) is an early childhood education professional and founder of Little Newtons (formerly Lil Newton’s Nest). Alise started Little Newtons in the fall of 2009 after finding that her educational viewpoints differed on early childhood development than what she was finding for her daughter. She set out to create a program for what she felt would provide children with an intense, exciting curriculum, as well as first class care, and she did just that! Little Newtons is now an exceptional early childhood education center with 5 locations in 2 states.
Prior to starting Little Newtons, Alise was a cardiac nurse at a local hospital. Luke (husband) and her were working opposite shifts and with her nursing background, Alise had done a lot of brain research on young children. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology with a cardiac rehabilitation emphasis and a Post-baccalaureate in Nursing.
Alise wanted to provide an exceptional opportunity for academic growth for young children. While still nursing at night, Alise opened her first early childhood education center in Plymouth, Minnesota with just a few children (7 to be exact). Word of mouth started to spread with how well the children were being educated and the results were observed. Until the fall of 2014, Alise just had one center in Plymouth. The need for a strong academic program grew to a new center in Maple Grove, then Champlin and an acquisition of a center in Becker.
Most recently, Little Newtons expanded to the Chicago area to open the first center in Illinois. The passion behind opening new centers is driven by giving the opportunity of a phenomenal education to all young children under the age of five. It is believed that under age five is the most important time for development and our best opportunity to set up children for success. The curriculum teaches Spanish, French, Italian, Mandarin, sign language, reading, handwriting, yoga, math, science, and bits of brilliance (anything from the Presidents to chemical elements, to all different types of animals, plants, bugs, etc).
