Little Sprouts, part of our family of early childhood and care centers since 2022, offers a quality before- and after school program for the children of Menomonie and neighboring communities. Our structured before- and after-school programs nurture students and provide enriching experiences that complement their studies. We focus on providing a safe, supervised environment with academic guidance where students can connect with their peers, enjoy active play, and achieve their potential.
We designed our before- and after-school programs to meet the diverse social, emotional, physical, and academic needs of children from ages 5 to 12. In our safe, supportive environment, students can explore their interests and learn more about the world around them. Our structured program reinforces lessons from school and helps children become kinder, more confident members of their community.
We open our doors to students between 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. every weekday to support families early in the morning and into the evening.
We help children transition from home to school in ways that suit them. They enjoy opportunities to use our materials, engage in unique activities with other children, or simply catch up on sleep.
We offer a nutritious and tasty breakfast every morning between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Options typically include cereal, pancakes, bagels with cream cheese, and an assortment of fresh fruit. Milk is also provided free of charge. We’re a nut-free learning center that complies with the USDA food program. We encourage parents to speak to us about other allergies and dietary requirements so we can better provide for their children.
We have a designated area for children to complete their homework and study after school. Our teachers are always on hand to provide academic support to help children stay on track to meet their goals.
Many children have energy to burn after spending all day sitting in a classroom. That’s why we offer a wide range of physical activities to help children feel energized and motivated after school. Active play also helps bond our students and encourages them to work as a team.
Children can also participate in our exciting enrichment and collaborative after-school activities and after-school learning programs. We design projects, workshops, and games to foster teamwork, creativity, and personal growth. Activities vary from day to day, but may include:
Only the best candidates become members of the Little Sprouts Menomonie team. We employ highly trained, nurturing people committed to supporting students academically and emotionally. They also maintain first aid and CPR certificates to cope with any emergencies. Working with us is more than a job for them; it’s a true calling.
We know leaving children can be stressful, so we have strict safety policies to give you complete peace of mind. All parents receive a swipe card that they must use to enter the building and sign their child in and out. You can share this swipe card with relatives and other trusted adults providing childcare, but we’ll only release children to people authorized by parents for their security. We also maintain staff-to-child ratios based on the age of the youngest child in our care. Our clear emergency procedures help us efficiently manage any crisis.
We aim to support the needs of diverse families to allow flexible scheduling. Parents and other authorized people can drop students off and pick them up when it suits them during our operating hours. We ask all parents and other caregivers to accompany children to their classroom for their safety. Note that we’re only licensed to provide care until 6 p.m., so it’s not possible to collect children after this time. Late fees apply for late pickups.
We ask you to complete an enrollment application and agreement and a tuition rate agreement for each child you want to enroll in our before- and after school program. We also require a current certificate of immunization for the safety of our education and care community, along with a current photo of your child and another of the whole family. If one parent isn’t authorized to collect the child, we ask for legal custodial documents for our records.
